Dylan Ferenc Nyerges is a writer, filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Born and raised in Bangkok to Australian documentary filmmakers, Dylan moved to Australia to pursue filmmaking. He continues to grapple with his third-culture identity and its liminal ramifications. His interests also extend beyond cinema: global politics, philosophy, and theory - all in an effort to better utilise cinema’s formal considerations. Besides narrative filmmaking, he is currently interested in experimental media, hybrid works, and is also developing projects set in Australia, Thailand and Hungary.

An alumnus of the Master of Arts: Screen (Directing) program at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), his latest narrative short film, Bőr (Skin) is a period Australian Gothic Horror performed in Hungarian. Premiering the film at the 2024 Melbourne International Film Festival, Dylan was the recipient of the Award for Emerging Australian Filmmaker. 

He has recently completed The Body’s Deepest Well (2026) and is currently in Post-Production for his next narrative short film.
